Asan Conservation Reserve Distance from our retreat: 12 kms, 20 minutes Asan Conservation Reserve, home to many rare and endangered species and a significant wintering ground for migratory birds has been declared as a Ramsar site. The reserve spread over an area of 444.4 ha in Dehradun is the first Ramsar site in Uttarakhand. This biodiverse ecosystem located at the confluence of Asan and Yamuna Rivers was declared as a Conservation Reserve in 2005. Guest can also enjoy boating here all around the year at a very nominal charge. 2. Asoka Rock Edict Distance from our retreat: 11 kms, 30 minutes The Rock edicts of Khalsi are among the many inscriptions of Ashoka, the first being the Bilingual inscription of Kandahar, written in Greek and in Aramaic, in the year 10 of his reign. The Khalsi edicts, placed in North-Western India, were located near the Hellenistic world represented by the Greco-Bactrian Kingdom and its capital Ai Khanoum. The inscriptions were written on a solid quartz rock. The main face (east face) of the rock contains Edicts 1 to 12 and the first part of Edict 13. On the right side (north face) is the drawing of an elephant with the word in Brahmi Gajatama, of uncertain meaning. On the left side (south face) is the continuation of the inscription started on the main face, with the second part of Edict 13 and Edict 14. 3. Dakpathar Barrage Distance from our retreat: 03 kms, 10 minutes The Dakpathar Barrage is a concrete barrage across the Yamuna River adjacent to Dakpathar in Uttarakhand. The barrage serves to divert water into the East Yamuna Canal for hydroelectric power production at the Dhakrani and Dhalipur Power Plants. The foundation stone for the dam was laid on 23 May 1949 by India's Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, both power stations were commissioned in 1965. The barrage is controlled by 25 floodgates and has a length of 516.5 m (1,695 ft) 4. Village of Kalsi Distance from our retreat: 10 kms, 25 minutes Located at the confluence of the Tons and Yamuna rivers, Kalsi is a lesser-known village near Paonta Sahib. The young and energetic Yamuna bursts out of the hills in the Jaunsar-Bawar region in the Doon Valley and continues its travels across the great Indian plains. Kalsi once served as an important township in Uttarakhand’s Jaunsar-Bawar region. 5. Gurudwara Paonta Sahib Distance from our retreat: 19 kms, 35 minutes This Gurdwara was built in memory of Guru Gobind Singh ji, the tenth guru of sikhs. The Dasam Granth was written here by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Hence, the Gurdwara enjoys a high historic and religious importance among the followers of the Sikh religion world over.The Gurudwara have a palanquin “Palki” made of pure gold, donated by devotees 6. Chakrata Distance from our retreat: 50 kms, 1 hour 30 minutes Located at an altitude of about 7000 ft above the sea level, Chakrata in Dehradun District of Uttarakhand State of India is a hill station and a famed tourist destination ideal for mount climbing, trekking and skiing. Yamuna valley is located down the hilly town. Chakrata was developed by the British rulers and was a summer retreat for the high executives of English East India Company. Presently Chakrata encloses military cantonment and the access is restricted here for civilian travelers.

Cleaning Our maid just comes before and after the check outs. We leave the house to the guests so we would request you to help yourselves during the stay. If it's compulsory to clean, we will arrange but would be charged. Electricity When your stay is long (minimum one week), the allowed electricity unit is 10 unit beyond which it will be charged. Just a note that we are already offering 70% discount for long stays. Cook If you need cook, please inform us ahead so that this can be arranged. This will be chargeable.
