Perfect Blue Mountains retreat for family &friends

Escape to a truly serene rural retreat that takes you away from the hustle of life. Less than 2 hrs from Sydney, discover a hidden world of bush walks, horses, chickens, potential kayaking for children and beautiful spots for picnics and stargazing at night. The 4 BR + Study full brick Chalet has a fully equipped kitchen and 2 living areas. With a slow combustion and 2 open fireplaces, split system aircon in every BR, this is your cosy home away from home for family and friends to be refreshed together. From here, guests can make the most of all that the region has to offer. With its convenient location, the property offers easy access to the Lithgow's conveniences and Katoomba just 30 minutes away in one direction, Bathurst just 45 minutes in the other direction, you have the region at your fingertips! The property has a myriad of recreational offerings to ensure you have plenty to do during your stay including hot jacuzzi (or cooler in the hot months!), games room with 2nd large TV, table tennis table and 7ft pool table, darts, as well as the great outdoors with large trampoline, ninja gym and BBQ facilities overlooking the dam. Set on over 200 acres of undulating paddocks and mountains, enjoy total privacy and endless places to explore. Enter via a 650m dirt driveway that puts civilisation far behind you as you approach the undulating fields and mountainside leading up to the Chalet. Behind the house are multiple directions to walk the two mountains that surround the escarpment, and beautiful bushland of established native rainforest to explore. The trails behind the fences are protected areas of bushland which house some endangered species of purple butterflies and white flying possums. You may spot them if you're lucky! The whole property is open for walking and trail biking but in view of the beautiful habitat it is to the animals, tread lightly. Be mindful that the bush and farmland comes with its ecosystem of animals, insects, sometimes sharp/prickly foliage. Get ready for an outdoor adventure! We have two resident horses, 2 chickens and families of wallabies who check in to say hi from afar most mornings and evenings! Please always wear enclosed shoes to keep you safe and comfy when bushwalking and exploring the wild and beautiful surrounds. We are pet friendly and would love to welcome your furry friend/s to enjoy the great outdoors! However, we recommend only small, non shedding dogs who won't go close to the horses as if they can lash out if dogs come close and cause them alarm! Please note, if dogs are shedding dogs or not toilet trained and leave any mess or any damage in the house, we will request compensation from $100 to up to the bond amount depending on the extent of damage and mess caused. We've never needed to do this and hoping it stays this way! We recommend bringing their own bed to sleep in, as strictly no dogs on the human beds thanks! The House: All set on over 300sqm of split level living with high raked cedar ceilings and original brick features, the house overlooks multiple views of the surrounding mountainscape. The room configuration is as follows: Bedroom 1: Queen bed Bedroom 2 (up 4 stairs): 2 x Single beds that can be joined as a King plus space for a fold out single Bedroom 3 (also up the 4 stairs): Bunk bed with daybed and single trundle that can be made into a king bed or split to be 2 singles) Bedroom 4 (down 4 stairs) tri bunk with double on the lower and single on the upper plus space for a fold out single Small Study: Single bed (note no aircon in this space) or two fold out singles (slightly smaller, more suited for children) There are the two fold out beds (named in the listing as floor mattresses) which can be set up in BR 1 and 2 quite comfortably which are most suitable for children or small adults. Just state your configuration preference at time of (URL HIDDEN) Kitchen & Dining There are two dining tables, set up ideally one for children and the other for adults! There are bbq facilities outside, as well as the fully equipped modern farmhouse kitchen with double oven and 80cm stovetop, dishwasher and plenty of communal bench space to prepare feasts together. Plenty of chopping boards, knives and cutlery to enjoy your meals and the preparation of them! Living spaces The large living space is fully equipped with 65 inch TV, leather lounges and plenty of space to gather. The sunken lounge with its own open fireplace is set up for boardgames, good conversation and a bit of music if you're inclined to play the keyboard or bring along your own instruments. Beautiful views from every window. There is a large deck looking over the paddocks and treeline of Boxers Creek. Enjoy a meal as the sun sets behind you on our 8 seater outdoor table, lazing in the afternoon on our hammock or horse swing. Time slows right down as you put your feet up and relax! Bathrooms The main bathroom on the upper level is multi-functional with communal double vanity and to the right the bath, to the left the shower, each with its own bifold door. The WC is adjacent. The second bathroom with WC, shower and vanity is a small ensuite set opposite the Queen bedroom for easy access. Laundry Top loader and dryer are available for use during your stay, washing powder complimentary. Rental includes access to entire property. Linen, towels, pillows and bedding all provided. Electric blankets supplied for guests to use if they choose. Other Add-ons Art Package: $85 We love the creativity that this property brings out in us. I am an artist and find myself songwriting and painting artwork when we stay here. If you would like an artwork package to also put paint to canvass during your stay, our artwork package includes 2 canvasses, use of easel, paintbrushes and equipment for an additional $85 paid directly. Note guests must bring ther own acrylic paints. No oil painting permitted (very bad for the septic system!). Must be organised with minimum 1 week's notice. Kayaking (children ages 7-12 only- 50kg limit) $10 per day per kayak (includes paddles and life jacket) subject to availability (we also sometimes have guests in the container and cabins who might book in). 3 kayaks for children are supplied, 4 life jackets and 3 oars. The security combination code will be provided to unlock the kayaks at the dam. Please enquire closer to the time of your arrival if you wish to use the kayaks. Also, we are serious about cleanliness and have taken on board agoda's guidelines on post COVID-19 cleaning. You can download and read them here for yourself: file:///Users/debfung/Downloads/CleaningHandbook_EN-US.pdf Whole house and property surrounds (less any bedrooms not being used and locked). Strictly no smoking in the house. We are a phone call away if there are any urgent questions or problems during your stay. Situated just 17 mins past Mount Victoria and 8 minutes from Lithgow, Hartley is the intersection of major attractions ranging from the Blue Mountains to Jenolan Caves, to the glow worms and historic Hartley. We love horse riding at Centennial Stables just half an hour away in Blackheath and grabbing a good coffee from Anonymous Cafe on the corner there. Our lovely neighbours across the road also conduct horse riding lessons and can hire out their ponies and carriages to conduct children's parties directly on our property! And if you love to know a bit of history, the mountain we are on is a heritage listed historic location where there were convict barracks built in the 1800s. Apparently there are ruins of the chimneys and foundations somewhere in the paddocks but we haven't found them yet! Perhaps you might! Send us a picture if you do! If anyone in your group needs transport, we are just 17 minutes drive from Mount Victoria Station and 10 minutes from Lithgow Station the other direction. Once on the property there are paddocks to explore, 7 dams throughout the property and kayaking for children on one of them! There's also the gorgeous walk along the 650m driveway in the mornings as you see the sun break over the hill across the dams. Bring bikes to ride (it's not flat so you'll get a good workout!) around to cross the dry creek bed and discover more hidden trails. See more pictures and comments on the place on our insta - redgate.farm Note: For single night bookings, we do not include linen. Doonas and pillows provided, just need to bring sheets, doona covers/top sheets, pillow cases and towels (incl foot and hand towel, tea towel). If you want us to arrange this and we have at least 7 days notice, additional fee applies.
