A stunningly situated two bedroom house, overlooking idyllic Ardmucknish Bay near Oban. The perfect spot for a magical holiday on Scotland's west coast. This unique home has incredible sea views with access to a secluded beach, 50m distance. There is also a lovely outside space with decked area and parking for two cars. The surrounding villages, have shops, pubs and restaurants, all within walking distance. The accommodation is semi-detached and we live in the other part of the building. You will have your own entrance and entire use of the house. Situated on the edge of the village, 6 miles from Oban where you can access ferries to the islands. Walking distance from beach, hills, shops, cafe, fish & chip takeaway, restaurants and pubs. Regular bus service to both Oban and Fort William from the village. Oban airport is a 5 minute drive from the house, flights to Coll and Tiree. Connel rail station is close by where you can board trains to Oban and Glasgow.
A converted Forester’s lodge situated in an elevated position at the foot of “The Cobbler”, enjoying views of Loch Long & the Arrochar Alps. The open fire and the Loch facing deck are perfect to relax after a day in the hills, regardless of the weather. Three bright & spacious ensuite double rooms, a cosy single room with bunk beds and a large twin room on the first floor provide superb accommodation. A family bathroom on the ground floor, and a shower room on the first offer individual facilities for each room. The large lounge with patio doors to the terrace, a modern kitchen and conservatory with loch views provide ample space for all guests, and the dining room at the rear of the property with a handmade, reclaimed wood dining table will comfortably seat ten. The generous garden has multiple seating areas to be enjoyed, with different views over the surrounding mountains and Loch Long. You may also be fortunate enough to see some deer wander close to the perimeter fence. The property is provided for you to enjoy as if it were your own holiday home. There are many attractions on offer in this part of Scotland. Walking and hiking is available at all levels from walking by lochs and burns through wooded glens, to hiking the Munro’s and Corbett’s, especially the world famous Ben Arthur (The Cobbler), which features the most distinctive outline of any mountain in the Southern Highlands Access to these hills and walks starts from the door at Ben Bheula with the footpath starting right next to the house. Mountain biking routes are available, again, from the door, with way marked routes on forest tracks. There are many picturesque towns and villages in the area such as Inveraray, with its fairytale castle and the nearby renowned Oyster Bar at Loch Fyne. Towards Dunoon the botanical gardens at Benmore offer many rare species of trees and shrubs, including giant redwoods! There is wildlife in abundance (we sometimes see deer from the house) with sea birds on the Loch and many others inhabiting the forest. This is a birdwatchers paradise ! The area offers walking at all levels and to suit most abilities , so whether it’s a day walk, weekend, week or tailored to meet your requirements we can provide the walks and accommodation. These are short, medium and long walks on easy paths and trails; such as a walk from Rest & Be Thankful on forest tracks to Arrochar, or walking from Arrochar to Ardgarten. Check out the visitor centre and select one of the many trails through picturesque highland woodland. Note: the easy trails do have some inclines! Only a 12 minute walk around the Loch you can relax with the locals in Ben Arthur’s Bothy, the local pub where your dog is also welcome! Corbetts in the area: 1. The Cobbler (Ben Arthur) 2. (5min drive) 0.7m/1.13km to Braeside Stores bus stop. (15min walk) There are 6 train services per day that run from Glasgow Queen Street.
