From the sauna you can enjoy swimming on the other stairs to the water. Barbecue sausages and cook corn on the grill house in the garden, which you can enjoy on the adjacent terrace. There is no internet access in the cabin, so a traditional, nature-friendly vacation is guaranteed - just like what you had with your grandmother in your childhood! SAUNA, BATHROOM AND WC The cottage has an eco-friendly, composting outdoor toilet. The traditional lakeside sauna is shared with our other rental cottage. The sauna comes with cold water from the lake and is heated in the tank on the side of the stove. Sauna heating takes less than an hour, after which you can enjoy! There is no shower, but washing is done in the sauna with water that is traditionally mixed in a bath. Heating and sauna shifts have always been agreed flexibly between neighbors. For example, sauna shifts can be implemented by first having the sauna warmed by the cabin warmers, and then by the neighbor. SAUNA, SHOWER AND WC The cottage has a shower and an ecological outdoor toilet in the yard. The traditional lakeside sauna by the lake is shared with our other rental cottage. The sauna comes with cold water from the lake and is heated in the tank on the side of the stove. Sauna heating takes less than an hour, after which you can enjoy! The sauna does not have a shower, but you can heat water with the stove traditional way. Heating and sauna shifts have always been agreed flexibly between the neighboring cottage. For example, sauna shifts can be implemented easily so that first to heat up the sauna uses the first shift and then informs the other cottage. Sauna is traditional Finnish wood burning and nice "löyly" (mild steam) place where you may relax and warm yourself up if you like swimming in lake. Parking place is located in the mainland and there is room for 2 cars. The distance from parking place to boat is 20m, boat trip to island is 400 meters, about 5-10 minutes. Nearest neighbours are loacated on mainland. Area is very peaceful. The lake is dark watered, good to swim and to fish. If you like swimming, we have put a little sand to the bottom of the lake in front of the sauna. Otherwise we have tried to preserve the nature as it is so beautiful as it is. Nearest shops are in 15-30 minutes drive away. You will need a car to reach the island. Travel time from Tampere is 1h. Road to the parking place is small dirt road, a standard family car is ok to use there. At the mainland there is private parking place for 2 cars. While you are having your holiday here you will probably need certain equipment: Rain equipment like rubber boots, rain coat and trousers Food which does not need to be stored in cooler, the refrigerator is working with solar power, it's capacity is very limited for mainly dairy products. It is recommended to have some experience about using rowing boat (not very difficult though) There is ecological outdoor toilet in a separate building.
