We love this because... Remember those old school type summer holidays that included backyard cricket and long days on the beach. Bay Lyf reminds us of better days, simpler days when things were less complicated. We adore the original beach house with its maze of rooms but the interiors are so up to date and oozing layers of style. We walk across the road to the white Sandy beaches of Rye and Tootgarook and spend all our summer days swimming and sunbaking. If we are feeling energetic we take the Bay Trail walk in either direction and end up at either Rye or Rosebud. In the summer the funfair is on to entertain the kids in one location and the circus in the other. Perfect. Our favorite spot for coffee and breakfast is only a 2-minute walk away at The Kitchen and for something special we always choose Veraison Restaurant which is only a 5-minute walk. PAWfect What fun! a new house to visit that lets (SMALL) four-legged friends like me sleep inside. Yay! a garden with tall fences to keep me safe. I love walking to the beach where I can go swimming in the ocean with all the other doggies (but only at certain times of the year). And there's a special basket just for me. No way! What's in there? we love this because... Our first search when looking for a holiday house is "water view". So we love that it is positioned right on the ocean. In summer we simply walk across the road to the beautiful beach with shallow blue water and white, white sand. Its perfect for our kids to play safely all day long. In winter we take walks along the beach when the sea takes on a wilder appearance and Paddington our four-legged friend is allowed to walk and run. The house is a townhouse and was great for our family and we shared with another family. There is a small cottage (Shoreline Hideaway) at the rear of the property that is completely separate and you can book it with the house or it is available to other guests. So you need to leave the driveway clear but other than that everyone has their own private space. The foreshore on this part of the Mornington Peninsula has the best beaches and we walk in either direction and take in the spectacular views of Port Phillip Bay along the Bay Trail. Our favourite spots are the upstairs lounge where we snuggle up with a book and a glass of wine in front of the gas fire in winter and watch the weather change across the bay. In summer the balcony is the perfect spot to sit and watch the beachgoers. Everyone loves the outdoor heated spa. It does only seat 4 at a time so for larger groups...get in line.
