The house is prepared to accommodate 6 people comfortably. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, washing machine, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, juicer, toaster, The living room has two 2- and 3-seater sofas, cable TV and Wi-Fi throughout the apartment. There are also two closed verandas (marquise) with table and 2 chairs for reading or having breakfast overlooking the sea. Close to supermarkets, bars, restaurants, ice cream parlors, pharmacies and transport... Right on Praia da Rocha, our guests do not need to travel by car, they can leave their vehicle in the private car park. With easy access to the beach and surrounding areas, anywhere, you can do it on foot in a safe neighborhood always with the authorities close by. PRAIA DA ROCHA: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO Praia da Rocha is one of the best known beaches and resort towns in Portugal. Located on the Algarve coast, in the city of Portimão, an hour's drive from Faro Airport. Praia da Rocha is Europe's quintessential beach holiday destination: although it doesn't offer much traditional Portuguese history and culture, it does offer an exciting and bustling atmosphere, especially during the summer, with plenty of water activities, impressive golden cliffs, nightlife and lots of quality food to enjoy. If you are looking to plan your holiday filled with fun, relaxation and plenty of sunlight, look no further than Praia da Rocha. Getting There: The closest airport to Praia da Rocha is located in the capital of the Algarve, Faro. To get to the airport it is possible to do it, although it is inconvenient, using public transport. You will need to take the bus to Faro, and then take the bus or train there. It is recommended that you book a transfer at the airport in advance, in order to reduce the travel time, by shared bus or by private transport. If you come from Lisbon, you can take a train or bus to Portimão, and from there take a taxi or another bus, or walk the rest of the way to Praia da Rocha. When to Visit Praia da Rocha: With the virtue of being located in the south of the Algarve, Praia da Rocha benefits from a good climate for most of the year. The ideal time of year to visit will therefore depend on the atmosphere you are looking for during your holidays. Summer is the most popular time for tourists to visit, which is perfect if you enjoy a vibrant, sometimes crowded, beach town, especially if you're traveling with kids. For those who prefer something more relaxed, spring and autumn are the best times to visit. During the winter, the weather is more unpredictable and the resort is less crowded. Additionally, although flight tickets to Faro are cheaper during the low season, flights can be less frequent and may not serve some cities, so it's important to research your options well before making plans. Beach and Water Activities: One of the main attractions of Praia da Rocha is its large and surprising beach. Even in high season it rarely feels crowded due to its size, if you prefer a more secluded location there are small beaches and coves along the cliffs down the coast. It's easy to walk everywhere in Praia da Rocha, so it won't be too difficult to explore the different bars and breweries in the area. Boat trip: From Portimão and other nearby towns, you can join a boat trip to several different areas along the Algarve coast, and explore the amazing cliff formations and observe the sea caves known in the region. Among the possibilities for trips, there is a boat trip through Algar de Benagil, in Lagoa, one of the most visited attractions in the region, and Praia da Marinha, which is nearby. Portimao: Although Praia da Rocha is technically located in the municipality of Portimão, these places could not be more different. Portimão is an excellent residential city and as such is not very touristy. Portimão is great for an afternoon of shopping and relaxing by the port. Portimão is extremely close by, just 2km from Praia da Rocha, making it ideal for a short day trip if you are looking for a break from the beach and resorts. Also worth a visit is the Museu de Portimão, a small museum covering Portimão and the sardine fishing and canning traditions of the surrounding areas. Portimão can easily be combined with a trip to Alvor, another unique resort and fishing village on the Algarve coastline, with a beautiful beach. Sagres: Sagres is the westernmost area of the Algarve, located just under an hour from Portimão and Praia da Rocha. Here is the most southwestern point of Europe, Cabo de São Vicente. This is also a popular spot for surfing, and is also ideal for walking and exploring the surroundings. Lagos: The nearby town of Lagos contains some of the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve. Make sure you pay a visit to Ponta da Piedade, another extraordinary rock formation that includes impressive cliffs and arches.
